Apps launch way too slow when connected to wifi but without internet

Hi,

I recently found that when connected to an internal wifi (aka, a wifi without internet access). macOS behaves very slow and launching app be like 30~ times slower than it was normally, for some app.

example: safari, IINA, Movist

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014) on macOS 10.14.6

Any idea?

Applications on Macbook Pro 2020 takes time to launch when WiFi is on I have a new Macbook Pro 2020 which I bought recently. When I click on any application icon it takes long time to launch. The icons just jumps for sometimes and takes time till the application becomes active. I did some testing and found that if I turn off the WiFi and launch an application, it starts without any delay. Once launched, the application works fine even if the WiFi is on. Just to be sure, I tried on multiple WiFi connections and the issue exists with all connections. Also, I can stream youtube/other videos without pauses. So my connection is not that slow. Any help is highly appreciated.

Lag when switch between apps in MacOS 12.5.1 I'm currently using the Macbook Pro 14 running on the MacOS 12.5.1. It is noticeable that when switching from Finder to another app or from an app to Finder, it is a bit laggy like this linked video. But while switching between non-Finder apps, it still works normally. Does anyone find this problem? [Link Edited by Moderator]

why does my finder slow down when i connect to the internet Why does the finder on my mac mini suddenly slow down when I connect to the internet. It's fine if I have no connection. Every search I try for a solution brings up hundreds of solutions for slow internet connections. But the problem I am having is local to my mac mini--the Finder itself slows down, but only when the internet is connected.

Why does the WiFi have no internet? Anything from Handoff to Bonjour discovery of printers can be messed up if your WiFi router is improperly setup.

Anything which requires internet access may be delaying your applications.
