After upgrading to Big Sur from Mojave I find I cannot access my External iTunes Library as the Choose button is greyed out. I took my iMac into work to do the upgrade due to low bandwidth here and I did not have my external SSD connected during the upgrade.

You should be able to press and hold down Option as you launch Music to get the choose or create library option. It would be odd if the choose button were disabled. Reboot and try again?

Thanks. Had to change the iTunes folder there to Music!
Ah. It looks like your library was created with iTunes 8 or earlier. Rename the file iTunes Library to iTunes Library.itl, then you will be able to select it using this dialog.

The options are visible but greyed out. Have already updated Little Snitch that required me to restart so that didn't rectify the situation.

Well that wasn't obvious, though I thought it would be technical. Thank you again - this stuff is so important to me. First upgrade since Mojave so I hope that's the worst ...

Before you go - what has happened to the scripts menu? Was there a Terminal trick to get it to show?

You need to put Music related scripts in ~/Library/Music/Scripts where ~ is your user's home folder.
