How do I move files around or merge a file into a folder?? On my old MacBook Pro I put the cursor on the file I want to move and hold down trackpad and then use another finger and move the file to the desired location.

MacBook Pro 13″, OS X 10.11

Drag and drop as before.

If you have force touch track pad you can make changes to

>System Preferences>Trackpad Turn it off or make it work better for you.

You can open Tabs in Finder and drag from Finder location to the other TAB

see: Tabs https://support.apple.com/en-sg/guide/mac-help/mchlp2803/11.0/mac/11.0

or

drag and drop to your desktop, and then drag and drop to its final destination
