I have an iPhone11 on software update running on ios 14.4 yet when I go to download the apple fitness app I get the message ‘this app requires specific features not available on this device’ yet on the same page says the app will run on this iPhone.

I have the same issue on my old phone. I believe you need an apple watch for this app
'Apple Fitness+ requires Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 7.2
or later and one of the following Apple devices: iPhone 6s or later with
iOS 14.3 or later, iPad with iPadOS 14.3 or later, or Apple TV with
tvOS 14.3 or later.'
