Why can’t I back up my iPhone with cellular data I could on my other android phones I have had I can’t even download the software updates I have unlimited plus 30 gbs of hotspot through Verizon. Why did they stop that?

Why can’t you backup your iPhone with cellular data?? And you can’t even download software updates using cellular data!! I pay for the data so I think you should be able to use it however you’d like

Did you check Settings/AppStore/Mobile Data/ to make sure, mobile Data can be used to download app updates?

Creating iOS Backups has always been limited to Wi-Fi, since cellular network connections where considered to be not that reliable, when Apple introduced iCloud backups.
