Re Apple Watch
Yesterday, I ordered a new Apple Watch 6 series and an extra band. They both arrived today and I see now that the watch is 44mm (as ordered) and I did not notice yesterday the extra band was 40mm. Questions: 1)Will the 40mm band work on the 44mm case? 2)If not, how do I send the 40mm band back to get it replaced with a 44mm band?

The 40mm band will work only on 40mm or 38mm watches, it is not compatible with your 44mm watch. You need to arrange to get it exchanged to the 44mm version. You might need to return the 40mm band for refund and order the correct size as a new order (which is effectively the same outcome as a size exchange).
If you ordered direct (including online orders) from Apple there is a 14 day return period, see your sales documentation for details. If you made the purchase through a third party reseller their return policy may be different so you need to check the sales docs.

NO the 40mm will not work with the 44mm watch.
I would advise you to speak with Apple directly at Apple Support to sort this all out.
