Decimal: point or comma?

I'm using a MacBook Air, ca. 2013...

My system preferences are set to using the decimal POINT instead of a decimal COMMA. I have verified this, yet using Numbers causes problems with decimals - My version of Numbers (6.1) only works with commas, so I have to change every spreadsheet for formulas to work.

Is there any way to sort this out?

Numbers for Mac: Change to 2 Decimal Places First time using Numbers and I am trying to change the column to display two decimal places. I have gone to Format, Cell, and changed it to two decimal places. But instead of making the numbers two decimal places it has added it to the end instead of reducing it down. For example, in the top cell, it originally showed 27.7222. It now shows 27.7222.99. It should show 27.72 I think that Apple needs to improve this program. Does anyone know how to get it to show two decimal places correctly?

That's a pretty old version! Have you tried setting your Mac to a region that uses the period as a decimal separator?
