how to add quicktime to be listed in privacy/microphone settings?

Quicktime player is not recording sound.

Under privacy settings, QuickTime player is not listed to allow it to use my microphone. How can I add it?

There is no + symbol, and nothing helpful in advanced settings.

Is there anywhere else to control input and QT?

MacBook, macOS 11.1

Hello Cattattac211,

We understand you'd like to use your microphone with QuickTime. We'd be happy to help.

We have a resource that should help. Check out how to Allow use of your microphone and audio input.

If you're still unable to use your microphone with QuickTime, let us know the software you're using.

Take care!
