Font book crashes immediately when I try to open it or check a file. How can I fix this issue?

How do I repair Font Book as it crashes immediately every time it is accessed?

Font Book permanently not responding As soon as Font Book is launched the spinning wheel appears which won't allow me to interact with anything - including the toolbar so I cannot restore standard fonts or delete anything through Font Book. I've tried deleting all fonts through Users/Library/Font and Font Collections (I can't delete the folders so just the contents) and nothing changed. I've tried searching anything with a font file ext (.ttf, .otf etc) and deleting all files. I've tried the Safe Boot restart trick to clear the cache but that also hasn't worked. When I launch Font Book it still says I have 339 fonts which means the fonts are still on my computer somewhere. This is really inconvenient for me as I work as a graphic designer and this prevents me from being able to download new fonts ( or use the ones I've now deleted). Please help!!!

font book won't open I have a users whose font book application won't launch. We've tried deleting the font cache and the plist file but it still won't launch. It will under other user profiles... also deleted all the files from the font folder. After the icon bounces, font book says it can't connect to one of our servers so I suspect that a font on the server was activated (instead of installing it). not sure what else to try... Running the latest version of Ventura

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
