You can't "exchange " it, but you can get a refund or trade it in.

See the "U.S. Returns & Refunds Policy" section in:

Returns & Refunds - Shopping Help - Apple

If that doesn't apply, then click on the "Apple Watch" tab in:

Apple Trade In - Apple
