Hello everybody, I have an MacBook from 2015, with the newest MacOS update installed (Monterey 12.0.1), and while my iPod is correctly detected by my hard drive and visible in the Finder, it isn't anymore detected/visible in the Music App, thus I can't upload/synchronize my music anymore. I formated my iPod but it doesn't improve the situation. I am desparate because I use this device to take with me and play anywhere my 800+ cd library. Thanks for your help, Greg

ipod doesn't appear in finder sidebar (Mojave) I'm connecting an old ipod to my MacBook Pro (OS Mojave) in order to retrieve music files. The iPod shows up in my iTunes sidebar, but it doesn't appear as a desktop icon, nor does it appear in the Finder sidebar. I have "show ipod" checked in Finder preferences. I performed the same operation with a different ipod (nano), and I didn't have the same problem. Can anyone tell me how to get this device to show up in Finder, so I can treat it as an external drive? Thanks in advance!

Thank you that was it cable was not split but it looks genuine tried another and it synced

Check your cable is genuine and not got any splits in it or maybe it's the usb port.
