What can be used to replace adobe flash?

Content that used to be presented with [proprietary] Flash, and needed an add-on, has been replaced by standard H.264, that has built-in support in all modern Browsers and email readers.
Any web site that has not made the transition has made a decision not to remain in business.

What I need it for is an assignment on a college website. I was using my MacBook and the assignment wouldn’t show up at all so I used my sons laptop and this was where I encountered the end of life of Adobe issue.
Whoever hosts or developed the assignment will have to upgrade their app/product. No one supports Flash any more.
There is no need to replace Flash Player. Flash content no longer is supported.
