My wife’s new iPhone 12’s FaceTime and iMessage was hacked. How the heck does this happen? Her sister, also iPhone 8+, messaged her and my wife replied then a hacker chimed in the conversation.

I think the issue is with my sister-in-law's iPhone 8. She had the messages that were from my wife's phone number (iPhone 12) and the person was asking her questions and he was replying to her.

She's in Toronto and we're in Arlington, TX, so I'm not sure what's up with her phone. Her husband works for the phone service and he was going to look into it.

Thanks for you help.
