Updates to IWatch

I cannot apply new updates to my IWatch. I am using 2.2 GB and have 2.7 GB free but the error message says I need 3.1 GB free and and need to free up space by deleting Apps. I deleted all of discretionary apps but cannot delete any of the Apple Apps.

My watch mirrors my watch but doesn’t actually store an pictures or data on the watch.

Do I need to apply the updates?

Any other ways to free up space?
