I want to dump my Mac and reload in order to clean it up is this good or bad

First of all I am a loyal Apple user iPhones iPads laptops etc. I have a iMac 21.5 I want t use a bat on but I had 27 inch for several years. The 21.5 is now out of warranty... it has become sooooooo slow it isn’t useful. I am very diligent about upgrades etc not a gamer nor di download a lot of stuff I use it for our small bs mostly and now I am desperate. The last upgrade sort of quit mid air and I thought it was through but I think I interrupted it and it changed even more added even more problems which is why I see this ad my only option! I have back up via time capsule!
That rather depends on the issues you are having. Sometimes the wipe and start over seems like a good idea, but often it's like demolishing the house because of a cracked tile in the kitchen.
Basically follow these instructions, or at least step 7.
