Hi I have a free 1 year trial of Apple TV + via my purchase of new phone. If I take it can it be cancelled after the free trial or are you tied in for a specific period?

It can be cancelled at any time. If done during the trial, the service will end immediately; otherwise, it ends at the end of the current payment period.
To avoid getting charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
