Beware of any shady shop that offers to repair/replace on the el cheapo. The components on iPhones that have TouchID or FaceID are serialized amongst themselves to create a secure enclave that resists intrusion and protects your data from everyone. Unauthorized shops usually lack the special tools to work with that and you end up with a degraded phone.
