Parts of my screen aren't working

I don't think I phrased the topic well. My screen works fine when I'm not in an app. I can select the bottom icons (i.e. phone, safari, notes and music). But when I'm in any app, the bottom of the screen is unusable. I can't press anything to navigate and my spacebar/enter button doesn't work at all.
