Apple TV v. Apple TV 4K

If I buy the 4K version, can it still be used with my older HDTV? It’s a standard 1080p Samsung that we got in the early 2000s, so it won’t last forever. When we’re ready to replace it, we’ll probably upgrade to a larger, 4K TV, and it would be nice to be able to use the same Apple TV device. Thanks!

Yes that will work just fine. The output resolution will match the detected TV capabilities.
