deleted messages in mail not going to trash folder

On my MacBook I am running Big Sur v 11. When I deleted a message in mail, it is not appearing in my trash folder.

Are you checking the correct trash?

On Mail, it's the one on the left hand side.

The one on the dock is different and won't show deleted eMails.

Trashed mail Lately on my Mac Mail, when I delete a message it goes into the Trash folder, but whenever I go to delete one or many at once permanently, I have to do it twice.
