I downloaded a couple of free apps to Transfer Video to Disc without watermark, and they were hopeless. So l dragged them into the bin. However l wonder if that's the correct way to get rid of them?
Do l need to do something to completely get rid of any record or outstanding files, cluttering my imac?
There are several methods to uninstall apps:
First is visit the developers site or look in the app itself to see if there are uninstall instructions.
Second, move the app to the Trash and empty the Trash.
Third, use an app such as AppCleaner to uninstall.
In most cases steps 1 & 2 are just fine.

When l first tried to uninstall the apps l right clicked on their icon and there was no uninstall option there - is that what you mean when you say visit the developers site? Sorry l am an IT novice!

All apps come from a developer, for example if you use Adobe applications the developer is" Adobe. So say you were using Adobe Acrobat Professional, you should Google, Acrobat Professional uninstall instructions" and see if Adobe publishes instructions. If you cannot find anything then follow steps 2 & 3.
