Black screen and overheating for iPhone 7+

Hello,

As my subject line states, I am repairing an old phone but I cannot get it to power on. The screen stays black, don't feel any vibrations or hear any sounds. But when you charge it, it gets very hot quickly. So that makes me think it is turned on. Not sure what to try to repair first.
