iMovie projects all disappeared since update

My mac has just updated to Catalina and my iMovie library is now blank. This has happened before but I can't remember how I recovered it! Thank you

Hi, maddyJJ,

I suspect that with the upgrade iMovie opened in a new blank library. Your original library should still be located in the Movies folder (Go/Home/Movies). Close iMovie and double click on your old library icon in the Movies folder. iMovie will open in that library and your projects should be there.
