Dropbox icon missing from Finder sidebar since macOS 11 install

Last night I just noticed that the Dropbox icon that had been sitting happily in my Finder sidebar was missing, and I can only assume that it went missing as a result of me 'upgrading' to macOS 11 Big Sur on 13th November.

The Dropbox icon used to live in the 'Favorites' section of the sidebar in macOS X, (see screen shot), but it is no longer there in Big Sur.

It is useful to have this in Finder for easy management of files that haven't properly synced.

Anybody have any idea how I can get it back, please?

Thanks

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.1

Hmmm. Not sure if your problem is the same as mine was, but Big Sur certainly seems to mess with Dropbox.

What I did to solve my problem was actually dead simple. I used the Finder search box, typing 'dropbox', which found me tha actual Dropbox folder in my documents, and then I just dragged that folder into my sidebar, which put the icon back where I wanted it and gave me easy access to the folder.

The Dropbox icon never disappeared from my Menu Bar, which I think is what you are saying has happened, and I don't think I lost any Dropbox functionality at all, so I think your problem is different to mine.

Well it appears Big Sur disconnected / corrupted my Dropbox on one of the two computers I upgraded. Even though Dropbox was still visible in my applications folder, it would not open fully, just looked like it was opening when clicked upon it. So I went to the Dropbox webpage and downloaded the newest version of Dropbox. It opened and synced properly. My other computer had no problem with Dropbox, it just worked normally. So, solved.
