I needed an activation code to redeem my 1 year access to Apple TV. I was required to contact Apple support. I used Chat to get the code. Have a photo of your purchased device receipt handy to save time.

If you qualify, and if you did as described in the guide, and you somehow still do not get to see the year offer, then contact Apple Support. They can assist in getting you the service, if needed using activation codes.
