Does the SIM card need to be transferred from an iPhone 8 to iPhone 12?

Does the SIM card from my old device, iPhone 8, need to be transferred to my new device iPhone 12 prior to transferring data from iCloud back-up?

No, iCloud backup has nothing to do with SIM card
