Hi,
My Final Cut Pro X slows down when I try to edit Zoom meeting recordings. Is there any logical reason? (Maybe it is about the zoom recording file.) My FCPX works fine if I don't edit zoom recordings.
System specs are added below, zoom recording is around 200MB .mp4 formatted.
By slow down, I mean when I play the video in FCPX, I hear the sound delayed and the video image freezes while moving to next small video. Skimmer is also slow and computer starts to use high CPU and all system slows down.
Yesterday I tried to import Zoom video and then export without editing. Then I used the exported recording and that worked normal. I don't get why raw recording slows the computer down.
You would need to give the complete specs of your system, your drives, and the exact specifications and size of the Zoom media.
What do you mean by slow down? playback is slow? the skimmer is slow? Beachballing?

FWIW, I edit Zoom recordings pretty much every day, and I don't see any slowdowns on my mac.
AFAICT, Zoom records in H264 with a relatively low bitrate, which is quite decent for the screen recordings.
How did you export? The media makes a big difference?
If you have Chrome installed, uninstall it.
Post an EtreCheck report using Full Drive Access in the application's preferences. Copy the report and use the Additional text button to add it to the reply.

Thee's a high probability that this application has hosed your Mac. In all likelihood you will need to do a clean system install. Backup up your system with Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner. Go into recovery mode (Cmd-R as you boot your computer). Use Disk Utility to erase the system drive. Reinstall the OS and during installation migrate only users, nothing else, no settings, no applications. Install the apps you need. Don't install Chrome or Flash. Never install CleanMyMac or any similar cleaning, antivirus, or file scanning applications. That's your best chance of getting a good working system again.
I exported Apple Device Computer 1080p format. I have Chrome but, I don't use any other applications while using FCPX. What's the connection between them?

It floods the system video toolbox and doesn't let go. It's a piece of **** basically. Uninstall it Reboot. Test the system. Also try testing the application in a new admin user.
