ipad is disabled

Forgot my Ipad Pro passcode number and ipad became disabled and said to connect to itunes. Did that

but it didn't work. Tried Apple Support to chat and my devices appear but when they want the serial number to my Ipad they tell me it doesn't exist! To get to one of their stores I either have to travel 2 hours east or 2 hours west and hoped that someone will be there because of covid 19 and our governor closing everything. Can someone please help me? Thank you
