Wallpaper stills - light/dark version

For still wallpapers it looks like most options have a light or dark version, my phone only displays dark all the time. How can I get it to switch to light?

the light and dark wallpaper versions should parallel what you have set for your phone appearance.

Go to Settings > Display & Brightness, do you have the switch turned ON for Automatic under Appearance? Do you have a schedule set in the Options menu?
