Importing video from SD card

I have an iphone xs. I have an apple sd card reader. Up until a few weeks ago everything was fine. I would plug in the card reader with a chip, tap “import” then “import all” , pics and videos would upload to the phone, then it would automatically give me the option to delete or save video or pics from the sd card. it would its thing like magic.

Now i tap “import” then “import all” and it counts back remaining videos to upload then a little red exclamation point appears on each video and it does nothing from there.

ive read that this means these are duplicates but where are the originals?

If anybody could give some advice, it would be appreciated! Thank you

Good evening, JayBird2484,

We're happy to help you find the imported photos on your iPhone.

Imported photos should be stored in the Photos app.

If you're using iOS 14 then do the following:

  1. Open the Photos app, then tap on Albums.
  2. Scroll to the bottom, and under the section titled "Utilities" tap on Imports.
  3. Your imported photos and videos should be stored here.

Here's more info on importing from an SD Card.

Have a good week!
