MAC OS Big Sur Download

Can someone tell me why I can't get Big Sur to download from the App Store or from Software Update in settings? the App Store says the download isn"t available and in system settings it says my software is up to date. I am currently running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7.

You need an iMac from 2014 onwards to install Big Sur.

Does anyone think that BigSur will ever be able to run on a late 2013 iMac? I'd hate

to have to buy a new iMac just so I can use Big Sur.
