Software Update indicates there is an update "Big Sur 11.01" 11.01? This makes no sense. Shouldn't it be simply 11.0? It would make sense if I had already installed 11.0.

Sorry, misread your question. The final public release is Big Sur 11.01. 11.0 was a beta version.
Big Sur will not download - it keeps giving me an error message
