setting up new iphone/ icloud backup/ PHOTOS (only selected or all of them) question

hello all,

i wanted to know specifically if there is away to select or choose photos from my icloud backup to add to my new phone. my concern is that i do not want to add every photo from my icloud in the backup process. one of the reasons i want to do this, is that i am running out of space. ( i know i can optimize)

so my question: can i choose only photos i select in icloud to backup to add to my new phone? in the past its just been all my photos in icloud. hope this makes sense. a tutorial link would be great....

*bonus question: with optimized photos selected, are they optimized when sent via text or email? or do they convert back to the full res?

thanks all....

If your photos are stored in iCloud, then there's no way to pick and choose what is stored on the device as iCloud works to mirror your data in the cloud to the device as well. The only way to have this done is to delete photos in iCloud but that would also delete them on your device as well.

They're converted to full resolution as the Optimize Phone Storage feature is to primarily conserve space on the device.
