Orange Dot

Does anyone know the purpose of the orange dot that is in the upper right corner before the battery percentage. It only shows when you are on the phone,

It shows when an app is accessing your microphone. A green dot would indicate an app is accessing your camera.

These are privacy indicators introduced with iOS 14.
