my screenshots are no longer visible in my Desktop. can you help?

CMD + shift + 4 to take a screenshot of a portion of my screen. I hear the click sound; however, I can no longer find my screenshots in my desktop. can you pls help?

Command-Shift-5, click options to change the save location.
