Green caps light stays on my wireless keyboard

I have read the only reply which restarting corrected this but it does not work md

Please reset the SMC 2-3 times back to back with all external peripherals disconnected and then retest.

Apple wireless keyboard won’t stay on When I press the on/off button at the end of the battery compartment, the green light comes on for a few seconds and goes off. The keyboard connects to my IMac for a few seconds, but then I lose connection. When I press the caplock key the light will not come on indicating the key board is not on. Smart keyboard not working Smart keyboard not working. I have change the batteries and examined any debris in the connectors. There is a green light that comes on above the battery indicator and then flashes to white. Any help you can provide is appreciated.
