Can I go back and do a clean set up after a migration

I set up my new iMac from a back up, using migration assistant. I thought I’d be clever and bring over useful things like phots and document templates all in one go - and also bring over MS Office 2011 and my Email mailbox. BUT, I find that Office won’t work and it’s going to be a pain to uninstall before I buy and install a new version. I’m thinking I want to start over: get rid of the migrated stuff and begin again with a clean, fresh new Mac. Can I do this?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

Startup in macOS Recovery Mode, completely Erase the iMac’s Drive and Reinstall macOS.
