Macbook pro screen keeps switching to the desktop

Whenever I bring a tab (Mail, Chrome, Safari) into full screen, after a few seconds of scrolling my screen automatically switches back to the desktop. I've tried closing tabs, relaunching finder, restarting the macbook, nothing. It is very annoying, and I am unable to get any work done. Any suggestions on fixing this?

Does this happen while on trackpad / mouse scroll or any other device.

Please check if you have same issue in safe mode (Which may take more longer than your usual Normal boot).

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support.

Note: Safe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software as it starts up, including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, and fonts not installed by macOS. It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility. And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed.
