iMAC WHITE SCREEN. will changing the hard drive fix it?

Old iMAC has white screen, sometimes folder with ? I've tried doing all of the key stroke routines without any luck fixing it. I've seen ads on the web suggesting that the hard drive is kaput. What are the odds of fixing the problem by changing the hard drive. Are there easier hardware/software solutions?

thanks,

Mike Klein

Please take the computer to your local independent AASP to have it fixed. We would have no idea what is causing a white screen condition, you need to take it to a professional that has the right tools. As the computer is running 10.11.x that suggests that it is a VERY old computer, if that is the case don't spend time or money on it, consider buying it's replacement.
