My iMac running Catalina does not see my Focusrite Preamp Thunderbolt connection

I recently upgraded to Catalina. Now my iMac does not see the Thunderbolt connection from my Focusrite Clarett 4pre. Focusrite says the fix is to download the driver, restart, then "Allow" the connection. Even after the restart the "Allow" button does not show up in System Preferences. I can use the Preamp but when I shut down or turn off the pre amp the process starts all over again. I tried creating a new admin account but still no "Allow" button for the thunderbolt connection.

Any ideas?

Boot into Safe Mode (How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support) by booting with the Shift key held down and try allowing from there.  Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.

Thanks Old Toad. I booted in safe mode and under System Report it showed the Thunderbolt connection to the Clarett 4 Pre.

I launched my DAW and the connection was good.

I restarted normally and the connection is still there. Big thanks.

The allow button never came up but I think that's because I had already given permission to accept third party apps.
