Hi,
I have an issue with my iPhoneXR. The Face ID camera is failing and according to a hardware test it failed the presence test.
There is no damage to the phone or anything else. When I called Apple they said since the phone was out of warranty I had to purchase a replacement.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to work with Apple so I can get this resolved.

Hi, you can check this: If Face ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad Pro
Download the latest iOS software update, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
If the issue persists, you can restore your phone as new:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings
If still not working, you can take your phone to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service provider. Book an appointment on getsupport.apple.com or use the Apple Support app.

I should have added I've already tried resetting the phone, restoring it from a backup and upgrading it to the latest iOS. This is hardware problem that needs to be repaired.
My issue is that I feel that Apple should replace the phone for me vs. charging me for a new one
