2016 Macbook Air SSD Data Recovery

I have a 2016 Macbook Air A1466 with 128Gb SSD. The computer has died (failed logic baord) and I want to plug the SSD into another Macbook Air as an external drive to get the data off it but can't seem to be able to find an adapter or enclosed that supports the SSUBX (12pin + 16pin) connector.

The other option is to install this SSD into other Macbook Air A1466 I have access to but am unsure of what affect this will have on the second computer (I'm a PC user and don't know much about Macs - but am learning fast!!).

Any help would be appreciated.

See if the laptop can go into Target Disk Mode (TDM). Even if the laptop doesn't work correctly many times TDM will still work.

You can get an OWC Envoy Pro Enclosure for the MBAir SSD. Sometimes OWC has used or open box items at a reduced cost.
