How do I find out the passcode?

We're trying to add our apple I'd to a child's iphone but we dont know the passcode.

The passcode is a four-digit code you enter to unlock the device for use. A password is used with the Apple ID. You cannot change either. Furthermore, you cannot have more than one Apple ID on an iDevice. Your child should know their passcode and password.
