Transferring data to new imac
When transferring data from MacBook to new iMac through migration assistant,
will my info stay on old Mac, as well as adding to new Mac?

Yes, the info will stay on the old Mac. If you plan to sell the machine or get rid of it, you can erase that drive and reinstall the OS to protect your personal information. If you plan to continue to use the machine, then you may have to sync or share data between the old and new Mac. This is fairly easy to do with file sharing, each Mac can see the other Mac's hard drive and share files.

Yes! The fastest and most simple method to do this is when you turn on the new Mac for the first time. Simply connect the old Mac's Time Machine External Hard Disk (or Bootable Clone External Hard Disk) to the new Mac before turning on the new Mac for the first time using a USB cable. When you turn on the new Mac it will launch Setup Assistant, SA will ask if you are migrating from another Mac, select Yes and follow the on-screen prompts.
If you have already run Setup Assistant then follow the same process for connection and launch Migration Assistant on the new computer.
NEVER EVER use Wi-Fi.
