Sometimes doing things with apple pages is difficult to do. I just want to add page numbers to a document for all pages of the document. The number should be at the bottom of the page.

option 1: the page number region is not highlighted in the Section tab.
option 2: I dont see an option for page numbering following these steps.

Do you mean Footer?
They're typical down there by default. Hover the cursor down near the bottom of the page and three boxes should appear. Click in one of them and you should see something like this:

Make sure Footnote or Header is enabled in the document. Since you want the page # at bottom, mouse over Footnote at bottom and choose Insert Page number. It will over three option on type of numbering you want ie Page number, Page number 1 of X and something else I do not recall
how do I enable Footnote for the document. The only open I see means I actually have to add a footnote.
