Macbook pro 15 inch Mid 2015, speaker are sounding weird after i updated catalina to 10.15.6 (19G2021)

Thanks for the ideas on how to address this sound problem – the issue is that the speakers sound like they are crackling from too high a volume even as the lowest volume settings.

This only occured on my mid-2015 powerbook pro immediately upon the update to OS 10.15.6 (19G2021) this past week.

This a software/OS issue.
