Can you transfer Apple Care to another device under the same name?

I am upgrading my laptop and am wondering if I can transfer my Apple care to my new device? Can you transfer Apple Care to another device under the same name? Thanks so much!

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

No.

But you can cancel it for a partial refund and buy another for the new device. See: Cancel or change the payment method for your AppleCare plan - Apple Support
