differences between iBooks author and pages

Do we lose any functionality when Apple moves content from iBook Author to Pages?

Apple has provided some capability to import iBooks Author documents, but Pages v10.1 is not a comparable creation tool with iBooks export features. Here is Apple's document on the current status of importing iBooks Author documents.

At present, if you want to create iBooks Author documents with its features, then continue to use iBooks Author.
