sudden increase in screen size

After setting up my mouse to enlarge the screen on my iMac by stroking the mouse I'm experiencing frequent sudden increases in the size of a webpage and I cannot recover the normal size. If I exit the site and reenter it appears in magnified form. How can I stop this happening?
