Previously in iTunes, when burning a CD, I was able to "join together" two or more songs without a gap

Previously in ITunes, when burning a CD, I was able to "join together" two or more songs without a gap. I am NOT seeing that option now. Is it not available anymore?

Join together is an option when ripping CDs, and only available when the CD is viewed in track number order sorted on the left-most column of numbers. Two or more consecutive tracks need to be selected for the option to appear. With burning you can only set a standard gap to be used between each pair of tracks.

What build of iTunes are you running?

The Join CD tracks option only appears if the CD is sorted on the left-most column of numbers in ascending order and two or more consecutive tracks are selected.

Note it must actually be that left column, not track number or album by artist, or another column which could give the same order, but not enable the option.

Still don't understand.

  1. I insert CD
  2. Highlight first 2 songs to be "joined together"

Then what do I do? When I go up to "Edit" and then "Song Info" and then "Options" there are NO options to join together the songs. In an older version of Itunes there was and I did it many times. I don't see one now. There is also NO option to check "Gapless Album" which I also remember seeing on an older version.

I really appreciate your help with this but unfortunately it's still not working. When I select the tracks and then click on the "Gear" tool, "Get Track Names" comes up, "Submit CD Track Names" come up, but "Join CD Tracks" - DOES NOT APPEAR. Don't know why. Very frustrating.

My laptop is:

OS X Yosemite

Version: 10.10.5

I don't understand why this isn't working.

Me neither. Did you check for the sorting chevron at the left? Which build of iTunes is it? You could try reinstalling iTunes in the hope that it fixes it. Apple have occasionally broken features in one build and restored them in another though I cannot recall if it happened with Join CD Tracks.
